Overview
If your Indian passport is expiring, has run out of pages or needs a change of details, you can apply for re-issue through the Embassy of India in Dublin.
Applications are now made on the Global Passport Seva (version 2.0) portal. Since September 2025 you must upload an ICAO-compliant photo, a scanned signature and your documents yourself — small mistakes here are a common cause of delay.
We help you complete the application correctly, prepare your uploads and get your document pack ready for the Embassy. The Embassy of India issues the passport after the required checks.

Indian Passport Renewal FAQs
Can I renew my Indian passport if I've become an Irish citizen?
No. Indian citizenship ends when you voluntarily acquire another citizenship. You'll need to surrender your Indian passport and can then apply for OCI.
Is Tatkaal available in Ireland?
No, the Embassy of India in Dublin does not offer Tatkaal passport service.
How long does renewal take?
The passport is issued after a clear police verification report from India, which may take 30 days or more. Allow extra time for postal applications.
Why was my photo rejected?
The portal requires an ICAO-compliant photo. Common issues include shadows, the wrong background, glare and incorrect head size. We check photos before you upload them.
