Overview
Want your parents, relatives or friends to visit you in Ireland? Visa-required nationals, including Indian citizens, need a short-stay 'C' visit visa for stays of up to 90 days.
We help both the visitor and the host in Ireland prepare a clear, well-documented application — from the AVATS online form to the invitation letter, sponsor documents and financial evidence.
Visa decisions are made by the Irish visa office handling the application. A well-prepared application reduces avoidable problems, but no one can guarantee a visa.
Who it's for
This service is for
- Families in Ireland inviting parents, relatives or friends to visit.
- Visitors applying from India or another country where they live lawfully.
- People travelling to Ireland for tourism, family visits, short courses or events.
Common challenges we solve
- A clear invitation letter and the right host and sponsor documents.
- Showing finances and ties to home convincingly.
- Correctly completing the AVATS form and summary sheet.
- Understanding timelines before booking flights.
How we help
Our support for Ireland Visit Visa includes:
- Reviewing the purpose of travel and the right visa type.
- Help completing the AVATS online application.
- Drafting guidance for the application and invitation letters.
- A tailored document checklist for the visitor and the host.

Benefits of working with us

- Fewer avoidable omissions, such as undisclosed past refusals.
- Fast support for families on both sides.
Eligibility & requirements
- Apply from your country of nationality or where you legally live.
- Each traveller, including children, applies separately — there are no family visas.
- Travel and medical insurance is mandatory on arrival.
- You must intend to leave Ireland before your permission ends and must not work.
Documents you may need
A typical visit visa application includes:
- Signed AVATS summary application form.
- Application letter explaining the purpose, dates, accommodation and who is paying.
- Invitation letter from the host, with a copy of the host's passport and, for non-EEA hosts, their IRP.
- Passport valid for at least six months after leaving Ireland, plus previous passports.
- Two passport photographs.
- Financial evidence — the visitor's and/or the sponsor's bank statements, payslips and Employment Detail Summary.
- Evidence of ties to home, such as employment, property or family commitments.
- Details of any previous visa refusals for any country.
How it works
Step 1: Plan the trip
Share the travel dates and purpose. We confirm the visa type and timeline — ideally start about three months before travel.
Step 2: Documents & letters
We send a checklist for the visitor and host and guide you on strong application and invitation letters.
Step 3: AVATS application
We help complete the online form accurately and produce the summary sheet to sign.
Step 4: Submit & biometrics
The visitor books a visa application centre appointment (VFS Global in India), pays the official fee and provides biometrics.
Step 5: Decision
The visa office decides the application. Book non-refundable travel only after the visa is issued.
Important to know
- From 1 June 2026, refusals of short-stay visit visas can no longer be appealed (except some EU Free Movement family categories); a new application is needed.
- An Irish visa does not allow travel to the UK. See our UK Visit Visa service.
- Submitting false documents can result in a five-year visa ban.
- Processing times are set by the visa office and status updates are not provided during processing.

Ireland Visit Visa FAQs
How long before the trip should my parents apply?
ISD recommends applying around three months before the intended travel date. Don't buy non-refundable tickets until the visa is issued.
Is there a minimum bank balance?
There is no fixed official minimum. The visitor or sponsor must show enough funds to cover the trip without relying on public funds.
Can a refused visit visa be appealed?
Not for applications refused from 1 June 2026, apart from some EU Free Movement family categories. You would need to submit a fresh application addressing the refusal reasons.
Can my visitor also go to the UK on the Irish visa?
No. Visitors from India can use the British-Irish Visa Scheme only when applying in India for a BIVS-endorsed visa. Otherwise a separate UK visa is needed.
